The Intellectual Property Right Scientific Association (ASDPI) is a Romanian non-profit, apolitical, non-governmental, private legal entity, registered into the Register of Associations and Foundations with no. 14 from the 27 of April 2004, according to the registration certificate no.20 from the 18 of May 2004.
The members of ASDPI are professors, specialists in the law field, especially in the field of intellectual property, researchers in the Judicial Research Center of the ”Nicolae Titulescu” University of Bucharest.
Within The Intellectual Property Right Scientific Association operates the Center for Scientific Research “Yolanda Eminescu – Otilia CALMUSCHI”, as a tribute to the passed away professors who were two of the most proeminent personalities from Romania in the field of scientific research of the intellectual property right.
Starting with 2008, as a sign of gratitude and profound respect, the members of the Intellectual Property Right Scientific Association and the board of the Romanian Magazine on the Intellectual Property Right established the YOLANDA EMINESCU – OTILIA CALMUSCHI awards, given each year, to some remarkable researchers on the field of intellectual property or to some young researchers for outstanding achievements.
Along with 31 other institutions, ASDPI belongs to the Institutionalized Working Group for intellectual property matters coordinated by the Prosecution Department attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice.
The main concern of The Intellectual Property Right Scientific Association is the quarterly publishing of The Intellectual Property Right Romanian Magazine, and also the development of scientific relations in the field, organization of courses, conferences, debates, symposiums, round tables, bilateral exchanges, dissertations and other activities in this field in order to prevent and stop the counterfeiting and the piracy.
Since the intellectual property law is studied in the Romanian universities, the members of ASDPI agreed upon the need of a publication to function as a base for debates and dialogue.
The Intellectual Property Right Romanian Magazine is published under the aegis of ASDPI and “Nicolae Titulescu” University. It is a quarterly publication (first number was issued on December 2004).
The Intellectual Property Right Romanian Magazine is the only publication in the field of intellectual property law allowing specialists in the field to publish various analysis, studies, comments, judicial practice, comparative law etc., for the purpose of becoming acquainted with and implementing the legal provisions in this field, as well as for the appropriation by those interested of the common and conventional rules regarding intellectual property.
In the present, our magazine is required and it is distributed, as a subscription or for free, to some international and European institutions on the field of intellectual property, to some private associations which develop activities in this area and also to some physical persons, specialists in the field, from Albania, England, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, France, Germany, Republic of Moldova, Netherlands, Serbia, Spain and USA.
In the same time, following the scientific recognition of our magazine, we exchange publications or other relevant materials with The European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA) and with the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI).
